INSPIRATION TO IDEATION
Inspired by his wife’s sleep challenges, James Marshall did what any good husband would do. He put his engineer brain to work and invented a novel mattress with responsive relief top of mind.
Marshall designed and patented the first pre-compressed coil spring sewn inside a fabric pocket. When ‘nested’ together, the coils morphed into an independent and dynamic suspension system, providing uplifting support and body contouring comfort.

By inventing the original pocket spring (a/k/a pocket coil) mattress, Marshall led a global innerspring mattress revolution, one that’s reflected – decade by decade - in today’s crowded sleep technology space.
